Ganbara celebrates NAIDOC

Isaac Hannam plays the yudaki at the Ganbara Facility Services and Academy Services NAIDOC Week 2020 celebrations.

Ganbara celebrated NAIDOC Week 2020 at our sites across the nation with our capacity partner Academy Services.

Ganbara General Manager Marius Liddle and Academy Chief Executive Officer James Pollock encouraged and supported staff to celebrate NAIDOC Week in their own way.

Among the NAIDOC celebrations was a team lunch at Academy Services’ Adelaide offices, located on Kaurna yerta, with the meal featuring delicious food prepared by Tauondi Aboriginal College, at Port Adelaide.

Those present were also enthralled by the yidaki performance of Isaac Hannam from Kuma Kaaru.

During the week we were also proud that one of our suppliers, Anthony Wilson from Nood Australia, received the SA NAIDOC Business of the Year Award.

Mr Liddle encouraged all Australians to continue to contribute to reconciliation even after NAIDOC has been celebrated.

“As we reflect on the origins of NAIDOC, it’s important that we also look to the future and how we continue to support reconciliation,” Mr Liddle said.

“We all have a role to play in this process and we encourage everybody to consider how they can contribute.”

Mr Pollock said that as a capacity partner, Academy Services was excited to help Ganbara celebrate NAIDOC and that the company is important to future business plans.

“Ganbara Facility Services is an integral part of our business and our support for reconciliation is not just confined to NAIDOC Week, it is something our organisation lives and breathes.”
