Ganbara gains Supply Nation certification

Ganbara has gained Supply Nation certification seen as the ‘gold standard’ when guaranteeing an organisation has the Indigenous ownership credentials it claims.

Ganbara Facility Services is proud to be Supply Nation certified.

As a newly certified Supply Nation member, Ganbara is part of a unique network that is transforming Australia’s Indigenous business sector.

Supply Nation’s vision is to incorporate Indigenous majority owned, small-to-medium-size enterprises into the supply chains of large Australian companies and government agencies.

A key part of this vision is certification, with any organisation seeking an Indigenous provider assured that a business featuring the Supply Nation certified logo is 51 per cent or more Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island owned, managed and controlled.

Ganbara Managing Director Paul Brock, a descendant of the Barngarla people of the Whyalla-Port Augusta regions, said gaining the accreditation would open broad opportunities for the organisation.

He said the certification would ensure Ganbara is front and centre in the face of businesses seeking the services Ganbara delivers, which includes commercial cleaning; infection control and fumigation; hygiene and sanitation services; waste and recycling solutions; electrical compliance and consumables supply.

This accreditation shows Ganbara is a genuine majority-owned Indigenous business, where people in the business are Indigenous and they are the ones making the decisions.

Mr Brock said another accreditation benefit is that Ganbara has gained access to a full range of other ‘Tier 1’ Indigenous suppliers, through Supply Nation’s online portal.

Under the certification policy, all businesses that receive this accreditation are subject to a rolling audit process, ensuring continued compliance with Supply Nation’s certification criteria.

Mr Brock said it was an exciting time for Ganbara, which was established in 2016.

While Ganbara has various number of government clients, the organisation is also breaking new ground with non-government cleaning work in a range of areas, as well as growing electrical testing and tagging services.

“We’re expecting to see continued strong growth in these areas,” Mr Brock said.
